We are looking for a temporary school counselor who is committed to their students and wants to collaborate with colleagues. You work proactively and preventively and have an educational focus in your work. As a counselor, you are part of the central student health team together with a counseling colleague as well as special educators, school nurses, school psychologists, and school doctors. There is also a school social team to support your work.

Who are we looking for?

• You have experience working with students of all ages, especially those in primary school grades F-6.
• You have a degree in social work or another equivalent education.
• You are well acquainted with and knowledgeable about school operations. The work requires that you are experienced in quality work and documentation.
• You can take a helicopter perspective in your work but also work focused on more detailed tasks.
• You are used to conversing with both children and adults and have experience with difficult conversations with guardians and other stakeholders.
• You have empathetic abilities and can put yourself in someone else's perspective without taking over the person's feelings.
• You are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations and can maintain a realistic perspective, focusing on the right things.

What does the job entail?

The position is directed towards the principal area 1, Saltängsskolan F-3 and Finnerödja school F-6 and is a temporary position for our regular counselor who is on parental leave. As a school counselor, you work both at the organizational level and group level as well as with individual students. Your tasks include working proactively and preventively with the educational staff to strengthen individuals and groups, as well as providing advice and support to students and their parents. You have overall responsibility for leading the work with the psychosocial learning environment. You will support the principal and teachers in difficult conversations and in contacts with guardians. In the organization's student health team, where you have special educators, special teachers, school nurses, and the principal as your closest partners, you provide psychosocial expertise and handle documentation. Together, you work supportively and preventively directed towards the school's working groups. Your tasks include, alongside conversations with students and parents, health-promoting and safety-creating values work in the school, where you lead the local safety team. You also collaborate with the school social team. You are the contact person for external partners such as social services and BUP. You will also have traditional counseling tasks.
